We got our dog a little over a year ago. Since we have been having a hard time training him. Anytime he got out of the house without his lead or leash he would run away. I can't tell you how many hours we have chased him (literally).

In the new house the doors don't close easily. You actually have to pull the door closed. So after the 5th or 6th time Chase ran we decided to buy him a shock collar.

We only had to shock him a handful of times before he FINALLY understood we were in charge. Suddenly we have a great pet. He doesn't run away, he doesn't jump on people when they come to the house, he doesn't bark like a crazy dog at them and he doesn't go upstairs anymore. With a handful of shocks (every one of them being because he was running away) everything we have been trying to train him on has suddenly been learned!

Thank goodness for the shock collar.
