Well, Chris had his first day of school and his last day of school. We were excited about his new school. We were also excited that Chris liked it and did so well when being dropped off.
Unfortunately, his school turned out to be more of a daycare. The packet we received before school started informed us that all children should be at school by 8:25 because class starts promptly at 8:30. After the first three days I realized the parents were dropping their kids off whenever they wanted (after 8:30) and only two parents were picking their kids up at 11:30, all the other kids stayed the entire day.
On Wednesday Chris would not get out of bed so he had a very light breakfast. I let the teacher know that he only had about half the amount of food he normally eats. You know how she handled the situation? She gave the kids lunch early (at least 20 minutes early) and when I came to pick up Chris all the kids were eating their lunch while the two boys that got picked up early stood there and watched.
Thursday I walked into the classroom to pick Chris up and he screamed "I colored you a picture, Mom." He ran over and handed me a picture of Garfield ripped out of a coloring book. This is when I was almost positive Chris would not be returning to this "Montessori school." We didn't send him to school on Friday.
Since the schools in Delaware begin registration in January I had a difficult time finding openings back in May. I knew it was going to be even harder to find him a school this time. Well, back in May I picked three schools for Ken to visit. We called each of the schools and the one Ken like the best found an opening for Chris! We rushed over there and filled out the paperwork. So now Chris will have another first day of school on September 13!
While I was filling out the paperwork the teachers said Chris could go out and play on their playground. The teachers came in to tell me that Chris told his Dad "This school is so much fun and I am NOT going to cry when I come here."

First Day of School
With Ken leaving for California about a half hour before us I forgot to take a picture of Chris. I took this picture when he got home though.
Well, we walked into the school and only two other kids were there. Chris was looking forward to meeting a little boy, Lucas. Well, when the teacher said his name he walked up to her and asked who Lucas was. After they were introduced the boys shook hands and were instant friends. Chris walked off with Lucas holding hands and I had to call him back to say bye! When I picked him up he was so excited and said that he wanted to return the next day! I am so proud of Chris. He even recieved a certificate for having a great first day of school!

Flower Picking
We decided to go flower picking. I thought it would be fun activity. Chris is really into flowers and I was excited to tell him what we were doing. After I told him he got a really excited look on his face and said "I have a better idea, let's play with Donavon!" I think the flowers we picked look great!

Down the Shore
Today in between Ryan's naps we did some light shopping. I found the next collection I want to start. Here is a link to the website. http://www.mrchristmas.com/prod_gallery.php?line=Gold&cat=6
We all really loved the chotchkeys! (Please tell me the correct way to spell chotchkeys too.)
Then Ken, the kids and I came back home for Ryan's nap. His parents headed to Rehoboth beach. They had no idea why there were going to the beach in the late afternoon. When we finally met them there Karen said that the boardwalk reminded her of the Minnesota State Fair. Scott said that he never saw so many people in one place at one time. They finally realized why we were going down the shore so late. It was amusing to Ken and I.
I finally got my photo booth pictures that I have been obsessing about for so long now. Here was our first attempt at the pictures.

Our second attempt.

Ken gave up so I headed back in the photo booth with the boys and this is what I came out with.

I will get us all back into the photo booth for some pictures that turn out better. Unfortunately, the camera was pointed so high that we had to stand just to get our heads in the picture.

Happy Birthday Chris!
Today was Chris's birthday! It was an awesome day. Ken's parents, Karen and Scott, flew in from Texas on Thursday to spend some time with us. Yesterday Tracey and Lou came. Today my parents and Grandmom came. We had a wonderful time having an airplane flying contest, an egg race, eating cake and of course watching Chris open his presents!

One present Chris recieved was a digital camera from Tracey and Lou. All his presents were a huge hit! I happen to like this one the best because then I can see the world through Chris's eyes. Here are some of the pictures he took.

No Girls Allowed!
Yesterday I was making salsa and heard some banging upstairs. Ken was with the boys so I figured they were playing a game. Well, shortly after the banging stopped Chris ran downstairs screaming "no girls allowed." He proceeded to tell me that I was a girl and I was not allowed in his room, there was a sign. So of course I walked up to his room and this is what I found... the boys in a fort.

Chris is currently obsessed with roller coasters. We bought one of the roller coaster simulator games. Here the boys are trying to figure it out. I thought it was a great picture of them spending some time together. We bought a kids roller coaster game for Chris for his birthday. I think he is going to like it.
