Baseball

Chris starts baseball skills tomorrow. We went out and bought him a glove and ball. As soon as we got home Ken and Chris began playing catch. Then when Ryan went down for a nap I was able to join them. We each took turns pitching, hitting and catching.

Ken and I were both surprised how hard Chris was hitting the ball towards the end. He also made a couple good catches. Check out Chris's tongue close up.

Now I am curious to see how much he likes his class tomorrow!

Blast From the Past

During Chris's spring break my mom found this old shirt of mine. She wanted Ryan to wear it as a smock while he ate spaghetti. Anyhow, it is the shirt we got when we graduated high school with all our names on the back.

It was fitting the day that she found the shirt because I had just come home from seeing a friend from HS.

(I took the picture myself!)

We were able to get the kids together at an indoor playground. Evan and Chris are the same age so they had a blast playing together. Andy and Ryan are also the same age but they didn't play together at all. Each enjoyed playing by themselves. Her daughter held her own with the boys and even wrestled around some! It was a fun day!

Getting Ryan to look at the camera is a chore in itself. Both my boys are not to crazy about pictures.

As Kati calls them "The Older Kids."

Peanuts Gallery

While at my parents house Chris rented a couple Charlie Brown movies from the library. In the Thanksgiving episode (it doesn't matter to Chris, if it is Charlie Brown he likes it) the characters play football. So Chris has been obsessed with playing football for the last few days.

Today Ken and Chris went outside to play football. Chris's friend, from next door, ran over and asked to play too. Well, Chris was holding the football right in front of him for her to kick. She walked up, attempted to kick the ball but missed and kicked him in the chest.

I quickly showed Chris how to hold the ball so he didn't get kicked again. He held it the correct way and the little girl stood about 20 feet away. She planned to run and kick the ball to the moon (haha)! Well, as she took off and went to kick the ball Chris lifted the ball. The little girl kicked so hard she flew in the air and landed on her back!

We laughed, her parents laughed, we all said we wished we had a video camera because it was a perfect reenactment of Charlie Brown.

Ryan Jumping

Ryan is trying to jump. He is not as determined as Chris was in this area. Chris took three days and practiced until he had the skill down. Ryan just tries for fun. We did actually see him copy a boy at the library playing hopscotch and he got off the ground!

Silly Ryan

This is what Ryan decided to do when he was finished eating this morning. I couldn't resist taking pictures!

I heard once that the more you laugh the happier you are. Young kids laugh constantly though out the day, much more then adults. Well, I have to say our family is generally a happy family. I wonder if Ryan has something to do with it because he makes us laugh often.

The Easter Beagle (100th post)

Today our mall had a Easter egg hunt for the kids. The age groups were 0-4 and 5+. I was considering taking Chris to the older group but we arrived so close to the start I decided to stay where we were.

Chris was able to find 2 eggs before the hunt was over.

He ran and found the first egg and then looked around for another. After he found the second egg I told him he needed to slow down because there were so many little kids. Well, the egg hunt lasted all of 30 seconds. We started walking around and I noticed a bunch of kids didn't find any eggs. I started looking around and I noticed it was all the older 2 year olds and younger 3 year olds that didn't find any eggs. However, the kids that could barely walk and most likely wouldn't remember this Easter found the most! I heard some parents complaining that parents were grabbing eggs for their kids and the monitor say "That's what happens in the 0-4 age group." It made me a little sad that not every kid found an egg.

Well, we then headed to get pretzels. On the way Chris was so worried that his eggs were going to fall out of the basket we had to stop every 5 steps to make sure they were still there. Finally I asked him if he wanted to put them in my purse. He did and we went on our way.

We got our pretzels and went to sit down in the mall. Chris had his bunny ears in his basket and they fell out. A women, who was volunteering, came over and hooked the bunny ears around Chris's basket so they wouldn't fall again. I guess she noticed that he didn't have anything in his basket because she quickly returned with some candy. Then the Easter Bunny came out of the store and was taking pictures with all the volunteers. I heard the same women say "That little boy over there..." She hid her face so I could not hear the rest. Well, a few minutes later she came over and asked Chris if he wanted to get his picture with the Easter Bunny for free, with a Polaroid camera. (I don't know what it is in Delaware but we now have Polaroid's with Santa and the Easter Bunny.)

They then told us there were arts and crafts in the toy section. So Chris and I headed back. We had a wonderful morning

When we got home Chris wanted to have an Easter Egg hunt. Finally, after dinner while I cleaned the kitchen Chris, Ryan and Ken had an Easter Egg hunt. Ken hid the eggs first. Ryan found one and a ball. When all the eggs were found Chris screamed "Dad, this time I am the Easter Beagle and you go wait for me to hide them."

I laughed so hard. It should not surprise anyone though that knows my son because he loves Charlie Brown!

What Is That?

Ryan is such an animal lover. He has no problem walking up to other people's dogs and petting them. I am constantly chasing after him at the park when people bring their dogs. Anyhow today Ryan had a little treat in his Easter basket.

He loved the few minutes he was able to play with the gerbils. Chris on the other hand freaked out (as usual). He always thinks that they are going to run away.

The Wee Copycat

Ryan was on his rocking horse being so cute. I quickly got my camera and of course Chris had to be in the video.

As soon as Ryan decided he was done with the rocking horse Chris informed me that it was his turn to be on video.

Chris loves to be on video camera doing just about anything. I think my sister might have hours of him just jumping around screaming.

Ryan on the other hand loves watching himself on video. He is currently complaining in my lap saying "wee, wee, wee." I think he could sit on my lap watching videos the entire day if it were possible.

Ryan Laughing

Ryan and I were playing one morning before Ken and Chris woke up. I had to get a video because Ryan was laughing so hard!

Hockey Game

We decided to visit my parents this past weekend. When I called to ask them if we could come my dad informed us that he had hockey tickets to the Phantoms. So Friday night we took Chris to his first hockey game! We sat in the 6th row from the ice!

Just arriving at the hockey game, before all the noise! Chris was still pretty excited.

After people started screaming he had his hands on his ears most of the time. He even made sure to keep a hand on his ears when he met the Phantom! My dad suggested soon after to put Chris's hat on and tell him it would help with the noise. It worked and Chris wore his hat most of the game.

I wanted to get a picture of Chris and me. He would not look at the camera so I got the camera and when he wasn't watching the game I screamed "goooaaalll." He looked at the ice and I snapped a picture really quick. It didn't come out how I wanted but I think it is such a funny picture!

Overall, Chris had a good time at the game. It went into overtime and then a shootout. Chris was ready to leave about 5 minutes before regulation time ended. So if my dad ever scores tickets in the future....we are going to beg that he takes us again!

Now for a random picture. About once a day the boys sit at the kitchen table and play cars. I love when they do this and it is just so cute. Isn't it nice that Ryan has two cars and Chris has about 15?
