Rocketry

The Wolf Scouts spent the last two weeks building rockets and got to set them off today.
Chris was hesitant to launch his rocket since only one rocket had been found and it came back in pieces.
He finally decided that he would launch his rockets with a smoke bomb inside so it would be easier to find.
Ken and Chris went off looking for the rocket and actually found it. If it were not for the smoke bomb they wouldn't have.

While the kids were off looking for a rocket Chris screamed that he found a grave. One of the parents went over to see what it was. Turns out it was a deer carcass. Leave it to Ryan to pick it up and bring it to all the parents to show us! Thank goodness someone had hand sanitizer with them.

Fish, Fish and More Fish

We decided to take the kids fishing today with some friends. We went to a park that we never had fished at before.
It was a good decision because we wound up pulling sunfish up right and left.
Ryan cast the line out for about 5 minutes before he decided he was going to play on the playground instead of fish so he didn't get anything.
My friend, Susie, was in charge of the camera and told me to hold the fish I just caught. She snapped the picture right as the fish jumped out of my hand.
It was really crazy how fast we were pulling fish in.
Chris' friend, Caden, even caught a bass!
It was a great day to go out fishing! Ken and I fished with the kid's poles when they were taking a break.

Area 2 Pinewood Derby

This weekend Chris participated with all the fastest cars in the area for the Pinewood Derby Champion. The fastest car only ran about a tenth of a second faster then his. He placed 22nd out of 43 kids in his division. All the cars were so close in speed. He did however win each of the 3 heats he participated in.
My pictures did not turn out great and it didn't help that I forgot to take pictures for the first 2 races. Here you can just see that his car is in first. It is the gray car.
The boys had a good time despite Chris not feeling well the entire time.
What can go wrong with a morning that starts off with donuts?

News on Chris

Earlier this week Chris came home stating they made an announcement at school and he collected the most money for The American Heart Association! He said that he will be attending a pizza party along with all his classmates that participated in the event.

Also this week they once again had the character parade. Last year Chris decided to dress up as The Cat in the Hat and was not able to participate because he got sick. This year he couldn't come up with a character so eventually he decided to use the same costume.
Unfortunately, this year he also wound up sick on the day of the character parade again! Next year he will participate in the wax museum and I informed him he was going to have to pick something different so he did not miss school that day!

Chris also participated in The Pinewood Derby today. I did not get a picture of him with his car as I left my camera at home. After the race they took his car and locked it up because he placed 2nd and will be attending the district Pinewood Derby! He was so excited!
Can you tell????? He decided to get his hair cut too!
