Spring Break

We started a new home improvement project this past weekend. It was supposed to take us one night...but of course that didn't happen. It's us and we often think of ourselves as the Griswolds!

So now we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be done before Spring Break. We have a lot of driving ahead of us. We will celebrate Easter with my family. Then on Monday we are heading to The Treehouse Camp to camp in a tree house! We will return on Wednesday because Ken has to work on Thursday. The kids and I will head back to my parents house Thursday and return home for Chris's soccer game! Should be a fun and relaxing Spring Break.

Chris has been doing great in soccer. He scored two more goals this weekend! He says he scored three because after a kid on his team scored he kicked the ball back into the net. I haven't the heart to tell him it doesn't count. I figure all that matters is he is having fun out there.

Oops. We were in a hurry last weekend and I accidentally handed Chris Ryan's pants. Chris didn't notice and while he was on the field I called him over to fix his pants. That's when I noticed he had Ryan's on!

Duel System House

We are now owners of a duel system heater and air conditioner. They arrived two hours late on Tuesday and I got the wonderful news that the electricians would not be able to come. I would have not heat Tuesday night. Thank goodness it was a warmer night. Basically the Hvac guy and electricians could never be at the house at the same time so we finally got heat again on Friday night. However, it is so nice out that we are not able to test it out. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this resolves our temperature control problems.

A Piece of Meat?

Christmas in Spring

Since I can't currently get the movies from my camera to my computer I have been holding onto this once since the beginning of the new year. Enjoy.

It was supposed to be a program with all the classes in the Fellowship Hall. However, we got snow and the program was canceled so the teacher just had the kids sing in her room.

Two Winters Later

We have been complaining about our heating and air conditioning since we moved into our house. The first day we moved into the house the air conditioning could not cool our house to below 80 degrees no matter what. They came out and fixed the problem.

Then the winter came and we were very unhappy with the heating. We even have a blanket over our window in the family room because it is so cold. We complained, they agreed something was wrong, they sent contractors out and the contractors said their was nothing wrong with our house.

During this time the exact same house was built across the street. We happened to notice that they had a larger air conditioner put in. We called and complained. Nothing happened. Then in August the air conditioner again could not keep cool the house. We complained again and were told their was nothing wrong with our house.

Finally, we started making progress this winter. We had given up on the heating because we had three different contractors out here telling us nothing was wrong so we kept complaining about the air conditioning. We knew something was wrong with the air and one of Gemcraft's employees was out when the air conditioning couldn't cool the house. Thank goodness.

Well, we finally got them back to the house at the end of January. They came with another contractor and all their paperwork ready to set everything on the table and tell us our house was fine. Come to their surprise when they found out that our furnace and air conditioner were too small for the house!

So they have now promised us duel heating and air conditioning rather they replacing the units. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they show up tomorrow and Tuesday! I know their track record and I might get a call on Tuesday rescheduling. But I am still keeping my fingers crossed! I just want to live in a house that is a comfortable temperature.

Avatar

Christopher had crazy hair day at school. He did not want to participate at all. It even got to the point that he would say that he wasn't going to school on crazy hair day. He just didn't want anything to do with the day.

Well, one day he decided that he wanted his hair, on crazy hair day, to be like a show he has seen on TV.

I am pretty sure that he has just seen commercials for this show. He told me that he has seen parts of it but it is such a long show that he couldn't watch the entire thing. While looking through our guide yesterday I saw that the show is 30 minutes long!

Anyhow, he explained how he wanted his hair and he got what he wanted.

Now I was worried that he was going to come home and tell me that the kids made fun of him. Boy was I wrong. He told me that everyone loved his hair and 12 people from his class called him Avatar. Also, that everyone wanted to touch his hair including the bus driver and a kid from a different class he didn't know.

Since this year was such a hit he is already planning what he wants for next years crazy hair day!
