Lopex

My mom said that we were crazy, but we did it anyway. Our new pet. The kids love her and she loves all of us.

Lopex and Chase don't get along all that well, but are getting better. Anytime Chase goes near Lopex she hisses at him. However I see her following him around and sitting there watching him. I think at this time the hissing is for show because she knows Chase is not going to hurt her.

Wipe Out

Chris is currently obsessed with the TV show Wipe Out. I recorded the last episode so Chris wants to watch it all the time. Notice it is on in the background.

In the show they have the contestants stand on platforms and jump over a moving bar. Chris's friend had a Super Skipper and let Chris borrow it. Suddenly we had a little part of Wipe Out in our house. Chris jumps and jumps over this until he is covered with sweat.

Well, Ryan figured he could play with the Super Skipper too. Although he can't jump over it he found his own way to get covered in sweat. What a great toy.

Happy Birthday Tracey

I know it is a few days early. I also know that I won't post at Mom and Dad's house. So happy birthday a couple days early. We can't wait to spend your birthday with you!

I Married A Monkey

It only took 4 years to get this video. 4 years ago we were taking a picture of the grandkids for my grandmother. Ken was trying to get Chris to smile and started acting like a monkey. Everyone was amused. I have only seen the monkey skit 3 times. Now the world is able to see him!!!!! Shhhhh...don't tell Ken I put it on the internet!

5 Turning 12

Our neighbors have been asking us to come over and visit for a little while now. Helen works in NJ and only lives here some of the time. Right now she is trying to take vacation every other week until she can find a job here. So she asked us to come visit again since this was one of the last days before she headed back to NJ.

Anyhow, we decided to go over to their house yesterday after dinner. I told Chris that we were leaving. He came up to me and asked which neighbors we were going to see. I told him and he replied "Okay, I know where you will be if I need you."

After picking my mouth up off the ground I was actually surprised that he accepted he was coming with us so easily.

It is amazing that just two years ago I could not leave him anywhere and now he is ready to stay home by himself!

One Down, Two to Go

We are now proud owners of one completed living room window treatment! My MIL worked most of the day to get it completed. It only took us two hours to figure out how to hang it correctly!

I am not looking forward to taking them down to paint the room!

On a completely different subject...Chris had his first T-ball practice today. His coaches really love baseball and are excited to teach the kids. However the practice was extremely boring. In one hour each kid ran from home plate to first base one time, each kid ran from home plate to second base one time, played catch and finally each kid stood in a position. However he told one kid to stand on first base and had the rest of the kids follow him. He did the same for each position. Once all the kids were placed he said "Now you are all familiar with the positions." Well, only one kid heard the names of every position (if he was paying attention)!

Of course you have to stop at the playground for a few minutes after practice. Chris went all the way across the monkey bars for the first time!

The New Baby!!!!

So we have a new baby in our house! It is the first baby. Chris didn't want anything to do with dolls. He has loved the same stuffed animals he received when he born. They go on every trip with him and he sleeps with them every night. We have always called them his babies.

Today we headed to Toys R Us to get Chris a car. He received a $3.00 gift certificate for his birthday from the birthday club. Unfortunately when we got there they didn't have any cars that he wanted.

As we were looking for another present Ryan kept pointing to the baby dolls and saying "baby." Eventually Grandma took Ryan to look at the dolls and he picked one.

He loves his baby so much that he wouldn't let anyone touch it! Here he is giving his baby kisses.

Sticker Man

Ken's mom came to visit today. She brought the boys some gifts. Chris received three Backyardigan movies and some M&M's. Ryan received a dish set, a book and a sticker book.

While Chris was watching his movies Ryan decided to play with a few of the 700 stickers she brought for him!

He just looks like he is up to no good here.

That picture might have been taken just after he put a sticker in his brother's hair!

I had to take a picture once he was done decorating us!

Necessary?

It seems that this is a necessary Mom post. Yesterday was Chris's first day of school. Now this is the third year he is in preschool, so it doesn't seem as exciting as the last two years. Two years ago was his first day attending preschool.

Then last year was his first day at a new school, after not being at school for 5 months because of the move.

The picture is nothing exciting. It might have been because I was running around like a crazy person because we were late leaving. I think we already had the door open when I screamed "close the door, I need a picture."

Goodness, notice anything about the all the pictures? Look under Chris's jacket in the first picture. He has a light blue shirt on with a dark collar...same as the next two. He also has dark pants or shorts in every picture.

I guess I need to buy him some different color clothes or make this a tradition!

Such A Cute Picture

That is exactly what this picture was....in my mind!!!

Can someone please explain to me why I can't get both of the kids to look at the camera and smile at the same time. Then can you please explain to me if I can get both kids to at least look at the camera why I can't get the camera on the correct setting so it is not blurry?!?!?!?

Happy Birthday Amy!

Happy Birthday Amy! We wish you all the best in the next 364 days!

Hope you had a great day!

Our Weekend

We headed to my parents house Friday night. We left late and didn't arrive until 10:00pm! The kids were so excited to visit my parents that they didn't even fall asleep in the car.

The next morning Ken and I headed to the Temple/UConn game with a friend I used to work with. The game was exciting but the ending was uneventful. The game went into overtime (what Ken calls bonus football) with Temple losing. I really don't like college football overtime. The first team that scores is not the team that necessarily wins. Each team gets a chance to score. Blah

Then today we took the kids to Sesame Place. Anheuser Busch has a great deal. An active military member can choose one park Anheuser Busch owns and bring their family members to it once a year for free! So we have no regrets that we only stayed for 5 hours and left without going on all the rides we planned.

Chris has been asking to go to Sesame Place this summer. Every time we go somewhere that has brochures of the local attractions he picks out the Sesame Place one. Then he proceeds to study it in the car for the next week.

We told him we would go on Sunday if it was nice out. Well, Friday as we were driving to my parents house we realized we forgot all the swimming suits. My mom told me when we got there that I could borrow hers. We hit Walmart and found one for Chris. Then we asked my Dad if Ken could borrow his. We only had Ryan left. We figured we would buy one at Sesame Place for him and if they didn't have one he would just go in his swim diaper.

It was a great weekend. However I think the best part of the weekend was when we were leaving. My mom said something along the lines of "Why don't you leave the kids with us and plan to go away?" I know she said something about being gone for a week too....but I don't know if I would ever torture her for that long!

Sorry...besides forgetting the swim suits I also forgot the camera!

The Joys of a 5 Year Old Continued

Over the last week we have received two astronomical bills and I have been stressing out about them.

Well today Chris woke up and came downstairs. He got on the computer and I started playing the Wii. I got my butt kicked hard!

Soon it was 9:00 and I could start making phone calls about the bills that I owed. I guess Chris heard me say that I was stressed out. He didn't know about what so he put on the Wii and proceeded to beat (2X) the character I lost to. He then said "But I beat Wario twice so you should not be stressed out anymore."

I told him I was not stressed out about losing on the Wii but I was stress out about some bills.

It was about two hours later (while I was on the phone trying to get to the bottom of of the crazy bills) that he came to me and gave me a handful of change.

Once I got off the phone I asked him about it and he said it was to buy new air and he could help out with the bills.

I didn't go into further detail because all of this should not be a concern to him...but my best guess is he heard me saying there was a gas leak in the old house and some one was going to explode! So he wanted to buy us new air!

The Joys of a 5 Year Old

Yesterday Ken was driving Chris to his sports class. Little did we know that the class was canceled since we moved and got a new phone number. Apparently on the ride there Ken was following behind a truck and could not see in front of it. The truck swerved lanes to avoid a car that was turning. Ken stopped short to avoid hitting the same car.
Chris says: Daddy you shouldn't stop so quickly.
Ken: I know son. I am sorry. I didn't want to hit that car though.
Chris: If I was eating something I would have choked!

In our new house the boys have locks on their doors. We use a coin to unlock them from the outside. Whenever Chris wants some time without his brother he goes into his room and locks the door. Well, last night I went to get Chris out of his room. His door was locked. I knocked. He asks "what?" I tell him to open the door. Next thing I know I hear him say "here, use this " and a quarter hits my foot. I picked up the quarter and opened the door. Once I walked in he puts his hand out and says "Can I have my quarter back?"

All I could do was shake my head and laugh about it later.

Last Day at the Beach

We decided to go to Rehoboth today. We were just planning to go school shopping for Chris at the outlets but wound up on the boardwalk. We figured we hadn't been in so long because of the house we would let the kids go on some rides one last time.

We talked Chris into going on the Pirate Ship.

He wasn't crazy about it. When I asked him if he would take me next time he told me he would watch Ryan while Daddy took me on it.

While Chris went into the ball pit Ryan rode on the cars. I thought this was a cool picture however it came out blurry.

Overall, we had a good trip. Chris hasn't been able to wear jeans because they never fit around his waist. Even the regular pants with the adjustable waist makes Chris look like he is wearing clown pants. Today we found a couple places that sold slim. They fit Chris wonderfully. Thank goodness someone realized kids are not one size fits all. Finally Chris is not forced to wear warm up pants everyday!

You know what else is pretty great about Rehoboth??? Most places offer military discount. The pizza joint we went to for dinner gave us 25% off! I couldn't believe it. Most places just offer 10% off.

Sticker Man

Ryan loves stickers.

He even has them on his leg!

While Adam was visiting he put a sticker on his face and Ryan thought it was the funniest thing. Now stickers on the face are the "in" thing.
