Wedgits Could Make the List

Wedgits could be the next item added to my "Must Have" list. Karen sent some to Chris a couple days ago and boy are they a hit.

Chris had his first ever sleep over today. The boys ran and ran and ran around the house. Finally I started playing with the Wedgits. Colin came over and wanted to build something. Then Chris came over and I was allowed to leave the picture. (It took a total of about 5 minutes!!!!) The boys worked wonderful together.

One boy would look at the picture and tell the other one what color was needed and where to put it. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the finished product because Ken came home with pizza. As most people know food is more important to growing boys then anything else!

I think it is a pretty cool toy!

Where am I?

I think I might have checked out of our house and this little boy has taken over. I think he would make a great host and teacher to anyone who wants to come and visit.

He can show you how to open the refrigerator or freezer door.

Then he will serve up breakfast for you. Today when I got out of bed and walked downstairs the little one had the half gallon of ice cream on the table with a giant spoon. He happily looked at me and said "all gone."

Or better yet he might show you how to hide in the morning, like yesterday. I searched the house, woke up Chris and my husband saying I could not find Ryan. Ken asked if I checked the guest bedroom and I suddenly heard, "No in closet." Ryan was in the pantry (which my kids call the food closet) with the door closed eating chocolate chips.

Don't worry about him though. He can also show you how to brush your teeth. In his world you can use any toothbrush you have access too. I started making sure to put my toothbrush in the cabinet after I found him brushing his teeth with Ken's one day. That didn't matter today though because he grabbed the stool and opened the cabinet to use MY toothbrush. Really, why can't he just do the same to get his?

He can also show you the best way to get dressed. It is simple just take all of your clothes out of the dresser, throw them on the floor then look through and decide which outfit you would like to wear.

He has even got the entertaining part down too. Simple, when Mom and Dad are not looking, grab the camera, shoot a few pictures and put it back where you found it so they don't know until they download new ones onto the computer.

So, anyone who wants to come over and visit....we have a wonderful host in our house!

Boys Wil Be Boys

As I said in a previous post we have been spending a lot of time enjoying the nice weather. Today after Chris fell off his bike and barely scraped his knee I decided I wanted to take a picture of the boys legs. They are definitely boys! Ryan's legs are not dirty, all the marks are bruises!

Cole Bros. Circus

The circus came to town this weekend. We brought the kids last night. The tent was set up in the mall parking lot. It totally reminded me of circus's I have seen in the movies. Everyone showed up, bought their tickets there and headed in. The boys were so excited to go but Ryan lost all excitement waiting for the show to start.

Once the show started Ryan climbed in my lap and faced the crowd for about a half hour. Then he got curious about what he was missing, turned around and enjoyed the show.

Chris liked Super K and the clowns.

I had to take some pictures just to show how different it was then Ringling Bros. Although it was not as upscale it was still a great time.

Ryan keeps talking about Super K being fired out of the cannon.

I personally think these women are crazy. They were being suspended by their hair!

The circus also brought dogs, horses, camels and elephants. I am surprised that the boys have not even mentioned the animals since we left.

Playing

Now that we have more sunny days the boys have been playing outside. Chris's activities of choice are baseball and riding his bike. Now that Chris has confidence riding his bike we can't get him off of it. Last week we rode 3 miles during the day and another 3 miles after dinner.

Ryan likes to ride his tricycle, push motorcycle or his scooter. I can't believe how fast Ryan learned to ride his scooter and tricycle. He is constantly watching Chris and learning from him.

My Grape Eating Pirate

This is the same hat Ryan had a temper tantrum about when I wouldn't let him take it to the beach to use as a sun hat.

Funny Christopher

Chris has been making me laugh the last couple days.

The other day we were playing Uno Attack and I put the card down to trade hands with another player. Since it was only Chris and I playing I told him "trade hands."

He looked at me and put his hand out to shake mine. I looked at him and said "Trade hands."

He then put his cards down, sat up on his knees and reached over with both hands towards mine and said "What do you want? Do you want to hold hands?"

That is when I realized he thought I was telling him to trade his real hand with mine. A simple explanation and now he talks about playing Uno Attack at school and who he has to trade hands with.

Then last night he was doing everything in his power to stay up after bedtime. Ken and I were talking in our bedroom. Chris came in and told me he loved me and goodnight. (even though I had walked out of his room less then 2 minutes before) So then he asked me if I was going to bed soon. When I replied that I was he asked "After you clean all the dirty dishes in the kitchen."

Ken couldn't believe that Chris came in the room and ignored him. So Ken says "What about me, Chris?" looking for Chris to say I love you and goodnight. Instead Chris looks at him and says "Yeah, that would be fine if you cleaned the dishes for Mom."

Another Busy Saturday

Chris had a t-ball game in the morning. This league actually makes the kids sit down on the bench when they get out. Here is the ball Chris hit to get his first ever out. (The ball looks like a foul ball but it was in the air right toward 1st)

I had explained to him before what an out was but he still would not run as fast as he could to the base. Well, after he got out he held it together despite the giant tears welling in his eyes. Then he went up to bat again and I have never seen the kid run as fast as he did this time. Here he is running as fast as he can to third.

So after the game we headed home and took a bike ride then got him dressed for Dover Days. By 11:30 in the morning Chris had changed his clothes three times!

Chris had fun singing and dancing at the Maypole. I think he had the most fun with his friends before his time to perform though. He had grass stains on his shirt from running around with his class before they took the stage! Here he is with his best friend from class and a picture of them getting ready to sing.

We played at the festival for a little while and then headed over to this little boys house for a short time.

Chris was so beat at the end of the day that he slept for over 12 hours!
