Our Memorial Day

Ken and I were undecided if we wanted to go down the shore for Memorial Day. Well, Chris made up my mind this morning. He woke up and was having a hard time walking. He said his entire foot hurt. After looking at it we decided he must have sprained his ankle yesterday and it swelled overnight. My thoughts this morning were that we would just take it easy today.

By noon Chris was set that we were going down the shore. He was proving to us that his ankle was fine and running around the house. Now he still had a limp but he was determined. So Ken and I decided we would bring the bike trailer, which turns into a stroller, and if Chris had a hard time walking he could just ride in it with Ryan. All was set...we were going to the beach!

We hurried to get out of the house in time to actually be on the beach and I forgot my camera. All was okay though as I was able to fulfill my addiction to photo booths.

Last summer Ryan hated the sand. He cried and cried when we introduced him to it. Today he loved everything about the beach. He loved playing in the sand, looking at the water and running from the water. He even tried with all his ability to get back to the beach after dinner. He tried walking over without us noticing, crying and even dragging us.

Chris had a wonderful day also. He was brave enough to get more then just his feet wet in ocean temperatures less then 60 degrees! Once we left he said "Thank you for taking me to the beach. Can we come back tomorrow?"

Chris has a good choices book. Every time he makes a good choice he receives a sticker. He currently is working on a Lightening Fast Speedway (it's sitting on top of our refrigerator). He also will start working on getting stickers for the rides at the beach. Every sticker he receives will allow him one ticket for a ride. Most rides he enjoys are three tickets. I have to say we have such a well behaved boy since we have gotten him his good choices book!
